The 12 Days of Alumni contest was a social media campaign with 12 days of giveaways from alumni-owned businesses and benefits partners. The campaign was designed to promote alumni-owned businesses during the holiday season, while also gathering information to update our alumni database through the entry form required to enter the contest. We were able to engage with our alumni businesses, gather information to update our alumni database and educate alumni on our savings and business directory. Our website/app has an alumni-owned business directory and features over 50 benefits partners, which are two of the important services provided for alumni. Business owners have a chance to market their business and showcase their company. Alumni can support businesses that are owned by fellow alumni. The discount partners were also able to highlight their businesses and give back to the alumni community with their prizes. There was no minimum value for the prizes, but the average cost was between $75 to $100.

12 Days of Alumni is a simple, low-cost, effective and replicable programme. It has delivered great results by offering a new service to alumni while at the same time increasing engagement on social media.
