Berkeley Haas Magazine
From the Nominator
"Berkeley Haas magazine is the strongest alumni engagement communication that UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business sends to alumni, donors, and peer schools, directly impacting our network’s robustness as well as our reputational strength.
Published three times a year, we aim to provide useful, thoughtful content that bolsters our brand, which is that Haas School of Business provides new thinking for a new, 21st century economy and that members of the Haas community are authentic leaders who create responsible, unexpected solutions to the big problems of our time. We also seek to provide stories aligned with our dean’s three priorities: innovation, inclusion, and sustainability.
To that end, in 2022 we featured faculty and alumni impacting corporate innovation, an alumnus making accessible travel—including adventure travel—more mainstream, and an alumnus demonstrating the value of empathy and crisis preparation in leading employees in Ukraine. When possible, we paired our faculty’s expertise with the lived experiences and insights of our alumni, like in our article about how company cultures are evolving amid a changing world of work, a strategy that provides relatable, timely content emphasizing the continuing value of Berkeley Haas to all members of our audience.
Our content has helped one alumnus win one of UC Berkeley’s top awards, inspired gifts, and earned praise from the head of our faculty for the research it portrayed."
