Introducing TXST's New University President
From the Nominator
"Texas State University is amid tremendous growth and change initiated by our former president, who led the institution for the past 20 years. Understandably, there was a healthy mix of interest and anxiety around the institution over who would be Texas State’s next leader.
Our marketing and communications office immediately got to work when the system office announced the sole finalist after a long search. Knowing that many new presidents across the country have faced strong headwinds in garnering university support, we put a plan in motion to help our new president make an immediate positive impression.
To help build trust, credibility, and goodwill for the new president, Dr. Kelly Damphousse, our marketing team created a range of multi-channel content to help build his personal brand on campus as an authentic, positive, and approachable servant leader who connects with today’s students.
Over several months, we developed Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok-specific content. This effort resulted in a highly engaged audience that watched over 2,100 hours of our content, which garnered more than 54,000 likes and hundreds of comments, shares, and saves.
The impact was immediately evident, with one Instagram user noting: “Prez Damphousse is the best thing to happen to this university!”"
