"Joe’s Basketball Diaries is an innovative long-form video series created by University of Toronto Communications. The six-episode original series uses Toronto’s affinity for sports—and basketball in particular—as a jumping off point to explore a range of topics that impact us as a city and as a collective, including race, inclusivity, leadership, equity, and global citizenship.
Hosted by U of T Vice-President, International (and basketball fan) Joseph Wong, the series features guests from within and outside the university. It is part of an ongoing effort to demonstrate how the university brings forward bold, innovative ideas and addresses complex global issues.
It also helped bring the university’s people—as well as its brand—to new audiences."

Creative idea of using sports, basketball and well-known personalities attached to the area to talk about research topics in ways that would connect with new audiences. The long video format and talk show feel is interesting.
