People love their dogs. To tap into this connection, the Portland State University Foundation and Alumni team created a special set of doggie items to use as donor stewardship and alumni engagement gifts. The result has helped us build relationships and spark joy. This is an easily replicable idea for other schools—especially if you’ve got pet lovers in your alumni community!

Judges loved the stylistic illustrations and fun graphical designs that tie in with the school colors and mascot. The utility of the cute treat tin and the pop-up pup cup is great for dog owners and are fun concepts to explore. It's certainly an unexpected type of gift and swag that people actually want to have and use—all at an affordable and accessible price point. The only thing judges questioned is what about all those cat lovers out there? Something like this would make a purrfect branded gift concept for kitty parents, too!
