QUT Giving Day Video 2022
From the Nominator
"QUT Giving Day in 2022 was delivered with a small team and budget. As such, engaging content that could be distributed across digital channels was essential to help us achieve our donor acquisition, donor retention, fundraising, donor numbers and financial goals.
We developed a video brief for QUT Giving Day 2022 and contacted several small production agencies to pitch for the project. Based on the pitches, we partnered with Jonathan Oldham for creative production. Our video showcased a diverse range of projects that our community could support for QUT Giving Day 2022, using the visual of a ‘donations bucket’ to connect the different student scholarships and research projects. To ensure the video's authenticity, we worked with a scholarship recipient, project leads and first-year acting students to feature in the video.
To minimize costs and ensure the video was delivered within budget, we shot the video in one 12-hour day, utilizing different spaces across the QUT campus. The production team included a director, cameraman, lighting, sound, hair and makeup. The communications manager and communications coordinator attended the shoot to coordinate talent, facilitate script changes, access campus spaces, and ensure the shot list was fulfilled.
The end result was our 2-minute hero video, shared in our EDM campaign, and multiple short edits for our social media campaign. The YouTube video received over 380 views. The short edits were distributed across social media channels via the QUT channels and by our 124 ambassadors across their channels."
From the Judges
We really like the concept of showing the act of giving and impact/action being connected in the edit. Also the use of specific ways the gifts will make an impact was nice.
