Streamlining Grateful Patient Prospect Data at UCD
From the Nominator
Advancement Services at UC Davis developed a semi-automated, secure data transfer and validation process to sort and steward high-volume, HIPAA-compliant Grateful Patient data from external medical databases to wealth/affinity screening vendors to Ellucian CRM Advance – all within days (instead of months). With the help of entity matching software and home-grown batching scripts, we now add high-quality Grateful Patient biodata to our database of record without creating database bloat – two files of data daily. We also built Power BI dashboards that offer up-to-the-day, high-quality prospects to fundraisers so that they can reach out to potential Grateful Patient high-capacity donors within 60-90 days of their visit (if not sooner). We now have thousands of high-quality Grateful Patient constituents in our database that can be stewarded and solicited during annual fund campaigns.
From the Judges
Really fascinating. UC Davis' work showed a solid comprehension of the issue and potential solutions, demonstrating that the team is clearly passionate about the topic they are addressing. We appreciate the creativity and innovation they brought to the project. REALLY using computing as it should be utilized to automate laborious work! It would be beneficial to other organizations with hospitals and medical schools. It's encouraging to see a fresh approach to securing data transfer and validating high-volume sorting and management processes. We were also amazed by the data encryption, which we think many people could overlook. This promotes the integrity, security, and privacy of data. It's astonishing how the laborious tasks have been automated to take only days instead of months.
