We Hear You: Sharing Alumni Survey Results
From the Nominator
To strengthen its alumni experience, Punahou sent out a comprehensive survey to its 30,000-plus alumni—the first of its kind in over 16 years—inviting anonymous feedback about their experiences during their time at Punahou and after graduation. The goal of this issue of the Punahou Bulletin was to share the results of that survey with respondents spanning generations and the globe, providing a wide range of perspectives. Along with answering multiple choice questions, participants offered thousands of written comments that included praise, suggestions, and criticism. Distilling the vast array of feedback received was no small task. Even more challenging was translating the data into compelling storytelling, infographics, and illustrations. The Punahou Communications Office decided to enlist the talents of a Hawaii-based artist to create an illustrated approach to the article, with inviting and colorful cartoon-like images of our campus community. These playful illustrations were woven throughout the article along with bite-size infographics and pull quotes. The result was an engaging and approachable magazine that synthesized the voices of our alumni and helped to lay the groundwork for an array of strategic alumni relations efforts at the school.
