White Coat Celebration Video: Class of 2026
From the Nominator
This is a short vertical video intended to empower newly admitted medical students against the backdrop of the iconic Royce Hall at UCLA, where they receive their white coats. Five first-year medical students were recruited to participate and contribute creative shot ideas. The celebratory video was shot on an iPhone in one hour the morning before the milestone event began a few hours later, edited in a couple of hours the next business day, and posted on key social channels for the David Geffen School of Medicine as well as UCLA.

Breaking the mold of serious and solemn White Coat Ceremony videos, UCLA’s short and snappy entry frames its future doctors as superheroes and stars. The video’s use of popular, high-energy music and dynamic angles emphasizes the excitement of the moment and the magnitude of the students’ achievements. Celebratory and empowering, the video was met with overwhelming excitement and engagement by its audience.
