The Art of Gratitude Campaign
From the Nominator
To properly express our gratitude for the successful completion of the "Many Faces. One Mission." campaign—UTHealth Houston’s first comprehensive campaign—we commissioned nine local artists to create artwork that celebrated the impact of many people coming together for the single goal of improving health. The Art of Gratitude project launched at a donor celebration event on April 20, 2023. The original art adorned gallery-style walls, and the artists personally discussed their pieces with the donors. Our team created a commemorative storybook for key donors, integrating the art into a cohesive whole, with text and design that emphasized our deep appreciation. This book was designed to be something the donors could cherish, created just for them--not an “off the shelf” product. In addition, the art was featured on a set of notecards that were gifted to donors at the event. Since the heart of the "Many Faces. One Mission." fundraising campaign focused on the impact of many individuals working toward a single goal, we shared this artful expression of gratitude with our entire community. To this end, a social media campaign—including Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Instagram, and YouTube—highlighted each artwork individually, and a digital flipbook featured prominently on our post-campaign website. The project also lived on as a traveling installation, providing students, faculty, and visitors the opportunity to personally see the artwork across the UTHealth Houston campus—and feel our gratitude.
