Bruin Business 100
From the Nominator
Launched in 2022, Bruin Business 100 annually honors a diverse group of 100 Bruin-owned businesses, recognized not only for success but also as models of positive social change. The program is modeled after a similar program at the University of Georgia, with a focus on community impact. UCLA Alumni staff developed Bruin Business 100, overseeing every aspect of the program, from crafting the application process and launching a social media campaign to managing the budget, forming a review committee, and coordinating an annual reception. In its third year, Bruin Business 100 continues to celebrate the hard work, talent, and innovation of exceptional alumni business owners, founders, and visionaries. Not only are honorees recognized for their contributions to the Bruin business community, but they receive various benefits, such as features on UCLA alumni social media channels, recognition on UCLA Alumni Association's Bruin Business 100 homepage, access to an elite community of 200 Bruin business owners from the 2022 and 2023 cohorts, and opportunity to network with other honorees at the in-person reception. One of our 2023 Bruin Business 100 honorees, the sustainable fashion brand Campbell&Kramer shared: “The ceremony last year was truly impactful, because it introduced us to other founders and reminded us of the community that supports us. Connecting with fellow entrepreneurs, sharing the ups and downs, and being vulnerable and honest with others certainly reassured us that we’re not alone. Additionally, hearing from successful Bruins provided inspiration and gave us individuals to aspire to.”
