Our entry, the Annual Giving Preliminary Data Analysis and Exploration Dashboard (AG Dashboard), revolutionizes data analysis for annual giving (AG) at the University of British Columbia. Traditionally, AG's complex data requests involved extensive, manual Excel file management, consuming days or weeks. The AG Dashboard, leveraging advanced Tableau features and SQL server database querying, transforms this process, delivering detailed constituent profiles in seconds, not days. The AG Dashboard's innovation lies in its ability to handle sophisticated, multi-faceted queries with ease. It boasts nearly 40 filters, encompassing solicitation status, biographical data, alumni education, and giving profiles, making it uniquely tailored to our AG team's needs. Despite its technical complexity, the dashboard is user-friendly, enabling fundraisers to quickly assess the feasibility and potential effectiveness of appeals for different units and faculties. The impact is a significant reduction in preliminary analysis time (from weeks to minutes), leading to more better appeal strategies. Fundraisers empowered with quick stats can now offer quick turnarounds to stakeholders, while exploring new donor engagement opportunities that were previously unconsidered. Using the AG Dashboard, fundraisers generate initial metrics for their data request forms, removing the guesswork of what the target constituent pool would look like.
