From the Nominator

The Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico (ITAM) Alumni Office identified that our alumni are present in more than 20 cities abroad. Thus, we decided to create networks, called Redes ExITAM, to increase the bond with our alumni, as well as for their personal network and professional growth. A Red starts when interested alumni get in contact with ITAM's Alumni Office to offer to represent our institution abroad. They are approved by a committee, put together a work plan, then launch the city’s Red. This initiative is active today in 10 cities in five different countries, and we are preparing for eight new launches. Since 2022, 39 events have taken place with more than a 1,000 alumni participating.  Within these networks, our alumni engage with each other in different activities, such as dinners, cultural visits, sports events, and conferences. In addition, the Alumni Office offers them the chance to participate in campus events via Zoom. The result is that now we have successfully established networks among our alumni. They have a space for professional growth, where they can expand their network with other fellow nationals, as well as for their families. Each Red has a WhatsApp group where they share different job vacancies and events. This initiative has reconnected our institution with some alumni who hadn’t been in contact for more than 20 years, and we can now update them on ITAM. Month after month, more alumni reach out to us to open new Redes, proving the success of the initiative.
