A University of Washington Foster School of Business exclusive, the MBA Rankings Calculator empowers prospective students to create customized rankings of their top 30 business schools based on rankings data from Financial Times, Businessweek, Poets & Quants, and Forbes. Originally designed in 2016, the calculator was redesigned in August 2023 and succeeded in delivering a highly interactive user experience that increased engaged sessions over 281% and increased new users over 129%, using no promotional budget. Shoestring promotion was accomplished through search engine optimization, an earned media partnership with Poets & Quants, content strategy (Foster website and social media), and emails to prospective students. The calculator redesign resulted in a 114% increase in visitors, generating valuable customer insights and driving traffic to the full-time MBA and other MBA programs at Foster.
