The READ Magazine Winter 2023 Issue
From the Nominator
Black and white portraits of nine inspirational Branksome Hall alums grace the cover of The READ's winter 2023 issue, themed a “fiercely independent production” in honor of the school’s new tagline and rebrand. The first under new editor Sarah Baumann, this issue highlights the diversity of the school’s alums and all the ways they are thought-challengers, innovators, and ceiling breakers. Better yet, it was co-created, featuring alum talents not just as subjects but also as the issue's writers and photographers. How Branksome graduates are blazing trails and creating change runs through the magazine--including pioneering careers in surgery and construction, speaking out for racialized people in the hospitality industry, and healing through opera. With its quality, energizing theme, and breadth of contributions, this issue truly exemplifies the school’s values: sense of community, inclusiveness, creativity, and making a difference.
From the Judges
