From the Judges
We were deeply impressed with the design of this publication. An interesting array of content, supported by strong use of illustrations, typography, and visually interesting art, gave the piece an elevated feel. The designers did some unique and unexpected column and call-out features that were no doubt challenging due to the volume of text. However, these felt overwhelming and overused at times; more white space was needed, and the layout didn't always promote easy reading. Overall, a strong example of design elements embedded in a text-heavy research review and one that pushed the boundaries of what is typical for such publications.
