St. Mark's Magazine is the school's flagship publication for alumni, parents, and friends. For many readers, it is an important source of school news, so we provide plenty of coverage of school events, athletics, and faculty and staff accolades, but we also use the magazine to give readers insight into a St. Mark's that doesn't always show up in news stories. In the two issues shared for this nomination, we shined the spotlight on our brand-new residence hall, Patterson-Sculley House, and on two recent faculty retirees. The feedback on the summer 2023 issue, which featured beloved retiring faculty member Jeniene Matthews on the cover, was tremendously positive--we received more comments on this cover than on any of the other six we've done since redesigning the magazine in 2020.
From the Judges
Along with standard alumni content, some nice freshness in the departments ("Inside My World," "Chatter"). Some strong photography--especially full-page portraits and double-page spreads with copy overprinting.
