Boise State University’s Student Philanthropy Board, spearheaded by Sydney Montgomery, aims to cultivate a culture of giving among the student body and introduce them to concept of university philanthropic. The Student Philanthropy Board also encourages Broncos to increase their involvement in activities that promote their Boise State spirit. The Student Philanthropy Board Grant Program, a point of pride for the initiative. Each year, $25,000 in grant money is awarded to support the philanthropic efforts of various Boise State University student organizations and individuals. Through this program, the Student Philanthropy Board is fostering an unmatched level of spirit and enthusiasm for Boise State among its students. “Being a part of the Student Philanthropy Board was the most engaging and fulfilling experience I had during my time at Boise State University," said Nathaniel Campbell, Fulbright Scholar, '22. "It enhanced my professional abilities by providing me the opportunity to build connections with passionate individuals across the university community. By embodying a unique approach to student-led philanthropy efforts, the board fostered innovative strategies about problem-solving and collaboration for a diverse group of future leaders."

Boise State University's Student Philanthropy Board certainly met their goal to cultivate a culture and awareness of philanthropy on campus. With students able to have a firsthand experience in the success of philanthropic dollars making a difference on campus, this ambitious "grant program" showed a great example of how to strengthen a students' affinity for giving to their university.
