To celebrate the demisemiseptcentennial of the University of Wisconsin (UW), the Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association (WFAA) created the UW 175th anthem video. Featuring the voice of André De Shields, ‘70, and a musical score by Leo Sidran, ‘99, the video prominently features the Wisconsin Idea (that education from UW should influence people’s lives beyond the classroom) and is filled with images that highlight the history and impact of UW over the last 175 years. Using the UW 175th theme--"Where An Idea Can Change the World"--the video appeals to all Badgers and builds pride and anticipation for the next 175 years, as the university looks to solve the problems of tomorrow.
