Vanderbilt's Namrah Ajmal
From the Nominator
Each year, I collect nominations from all of Vanderbilt's schools, centers, and identity groups of undergraduate, graduate, and professional students from the graduating class. From these nominations for the class of 2023, I wrote 23 profiles. This profile of School of Engineering undergrad and resident assistant Namrah Ajmal was by far one of my favorites because of her heart and authenticity. Through our interview, Namrah allowed me to peel away layers and learn about her. It was an absolute honor for her to trust me to write a story. The piece ran on Vanderbilt's main news page, home page, the engineering web page, as well as all of Vanderbilt's social channels. The story was used as part of commencement activities. Admissions also used the story to promote the School of Engineering, the Martha Rivers Ingram Commons, the Vanderbilt Muslim Student Association, and the Vanderbilt Interfaith Council.
