Your RX for Success
From the Nominator
During the past several years, the number of students enrolling in a graduate pharmacy program has declined, with numbers showing a national downward trend in the doctorate degree. A situational analysis revealed a 60% decline in applications nationwide, dwindling from 107,000 in 2011 to 40,500 in 2021. At Touro University California, we created a campaign that could navigate the challenges of a saturated market and evolving trends in pharmacy. We approached the task proactively and optimistically, and rather than viewing the declines as a setback, we took them as an opportunity to foster renewed interest in pharmacy education. To craft a resonant message, we engaged students, faculty, and alumni in our campaign. Harnessing their insight and feedback, we created the tagline “Your RX for Success.” This served as a focal point for our efforts, which included social media, digital campaigns, emails, a dedicated landing page, and various forms of print. To amplify our reach, we created a Pharmacy Ambassador program to gather valuable insights. Additionally, pharmacy students formed a dedicated social media team. This team, through an Instagram account, spotlighted the pharmacy program and its faculty and students, creating enthusiasm. The "Your RX for Success" campaign exceeded anticipated leads. This multifaceted approach not only attracted applicants but also allowed us to track and analyze the effectiveness of each channel.
