Meet Your Co-Chairs
Chelsey Holts
Chelsey Holts is the Director of Content Strategy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, overseeing the development and implementation of campus-wide communications content in support of the University’s brand strategy and key messages. In her role, she advises leadership on strategy and reputation and works with a team to identify, produce and amplify impactful content for Carolina’s various audiences on its website, social media channels and email newsletter. She consults with colleagues across campus on strategy and crisis management and leads collaborative initiatives with departments and schools.
Previously, Chelsey served as the Director of Social Media for Carolina. Her experience in social media and digital marketing spans various industries, including automotive, entertainment, agricultural and higher education. Chelsey is a graduate of the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media and has published several articles in the Journal of Education Advancement & Marketing.
Erica Colaianne
Erica Colaianne is the Director of Social Media at the University of Michigan where she leads the social communications team that creates dynamic content every day for audiences of more than 2.3 million. Representing a world-class institution known for academic excellence, innovative research, competitive athletics, and a vast global alumni network, she strategizes informational, inclusive and inventive content to educate, engage and enthrall U-M audiences across all social platforms. Driving the coordination of cohesive strategies, she brings social communicators throughout the institution together to cultivate collaborations for creative content that demonstrates the immense impact of the institution and encapsulates the Wolverine experience.
Erica previously worked in communications and marketing at Wayne State University and prior to joining the higher education community she led communications and marketing efforts for a range of organizations including healthcare, media companies and nonprofits. She graduated from Wayne State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and received a master’s degree in integrated marketing communications from Eastern Michigan University.
Alexa Block
I am currently an associate director of news and strategic content at Pomona College in Claremont, CA. I specialize in social media management, content creation and online communication strategy to promote engagement. I consult with the College's professors and other departments about how to meet their social media goals. I also oversee the Office of Communications team of student social media contributors. I help provide students with real-world experience creating content for the College's social media platforms.
I previously worked as a television news reporter for 7 years before transitioning to social media management and strategy.
I attended undergrad at Pacific University, Oregon. I played on the volleyball team. I studied journalism and film. I have completed a certificate course in Strategic Communications and Public Relations through Portland State University. And I completed my Master of Science in Digital Audience Strategy from Arizona State University in 2020.
Sebastian Troitño
Sebastian is a Digital Marketing Manager constantly looking for the best ways to blend analytics and creativity to deliver the best marketing results. Campaign designing and strategizing are amongst his favorite things about marketing, next to mindless scrolling and reels binge-watching. Shhh! It's for work purposes.
He enjoys data analytics (trust me, I sometimes have no clue what I'm looking at), coordinating social media strategies (it never ends!), and running social media ads (my fave). Constantly searching for the best ways to engage audiences. If engagement were a roadmap, he'd probably be drawing smiley faces on it by now!
Sebastian earned his MBA from the University of Houston-Downtown, where he also received a bachelor's in business marketing.
Meet Your Speakers
Ali Abel, MPR, CMP
Ali Abel is an award-winning communicator and the senior manager of marketing and communications for the Faculty of Law at the University of Calgary, a role she's held for more than ten years. What that fancy title really means is that she tells the stories of the law school, and she does so with limited budget and a small team. As such, she's a jack of all trades - websites, social media, media relations, writing, video creation, event planning, e-marketing...the list goes on.
She's a certified professional communicator for the International Association of Business Communicators, and earned her masters of public relations from Mount Saint Vincent University in 2021.
Victoria Ambriz
Victoria Ambriz is a determined and enthusiastic writer and communicator with a diverse skill set, ranging from graphic design to grant writing, copywriting to social media marketing. Her experience in various industries has given her the opportunity to explore and engage with audiences of all kinds. She firmly believes in the power of collaboration among fellow writers and marketers, viewing it as the cornerstone of professional growth. Her favorite part of working in the marketing industry is the ability to flex her creative muscles on a daily basis. She holds a Bachelor's in Literature and a Master of Science in Professional Writing from New York University.
Alex Banks
Alex Banks joined the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law as the Communications Coordinator in August 2022. Banks works with other members of the Marketing and Communications Department to develop high-quality social media content, write news stories, film video content, produce photography, and execute strategic communications plans for McGeorge School of Law.
Previously, he served as a sports and news reporter, while also helping with content creation at 209 Multimedia. Banks enjoys applying his content creation background and journalism skills to McGeorge School of Law’s marketing and communications efforts.
Christina Chin
Christina Chin is the Social & Digital Content Strategist for the Associate Vice President (AVP), Student Communications team at UBC Okanagan. In her current role, Christina leads the strategy behind all social media accounts under the AVP, Students portfolio, content planning and development for the Student Life social media channels, and a team of Student Content Creators. She also collaborates with communicators across campus, acts as the lead editor for the student website, and is an editor for the UBCO Life bi-weekly newsletter. Christina strives to build community on campus through social media and ensure that students can use the information they receive online to customize their university experience. To achieve this vision, she developed a portfolio-wide social media strategy to ensure that all student communications are strategically aligned, timely, and accessible for students.
In her free time, Christina enjoys swimming, hiking, snowboarding, and traveling to new places.
Kim Devine
Initially starting her career in Ad Operations at a digital marketing agency, Kim Devine made the switch to become a Content Marketer at Ridgefield Academy/Landmark Preschool three years ago and has not looked back. As a Content Marketer, Kim is responsible for creating and executing the school's content strategy, making data-driven marketing decisions, and producing school content including the annual magazine, social media posts, a weekly newsletter, and website copy.
Ashley Golledge
Ashley Golledge joined the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law as the Director of Marketing and Communications in July 2021. Golledge develops and executes strategic communications plans, marketing strategies, public relations initiatives, and social media strategies for McGeorge School of Law. She has written a book chapter for the “Building an Antiracist Law School, Legal Academy, and Legal Profession” eight-book series by the Antiracist Development Institute, contributing to the Incorporating Antiracist Principles in Alumni Affairs and Advancement volume. The book chapter covers incorporating antiracist principles in Marketing and Communications work.
Previously, she served as the communications specialist at the University of the Kansas School of Law for three years and served as the sole marketing professional for the Portland, Oregon office of K&L Gates LLP.
Golledge has a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and a master’s degree in Digital Content Strategy from the University of Kansas.

Kosta Myzithras
Kosta Myzithras is the Director of Technology at Ridgefield Academy/Landmark Preschool, who has managed technology at the school for four years with additional interest in school security and operations. He is a twenty-plus-year IT veteran in education with experience in consulting and independent and public schools. When not at school, he values family time and loves gardening, woodworking, and mechanical repairs.
Josselyn Partida
Josselyn Partida is a dynamic and creative force, hailing from the vibrant campus of California State University Northridge (CSUN). As a proud graduate of CSUN herself, her journey through academia and her unwavering commitment to her alma mater have shaped her into a passionate advocate for higher education and authentic content creation. A creative spirit from the outset, Josselyn is driven by her enthusiasm for the student perspective and higher education. She's a one-woman powerhouse, skillfully weaving her creativity into relatable and authentic content that speaks to students, faculty, and staff alike.
Currently, Josselyn serves as the Digital Strategy Specialist at CSUN, where her talents create innovative and engaging content. Her role allows her to amplify the university's message, enhancing its reach and impact. Moreover, she remains an active board member of her alma mater's Alumni Association Board of Directors. Her passion for giving back to CSUN shines through as she collaborates with fellow alumni to support and uplift the institution.
Josselyn's journey working at CSUN started in 2020 when she filled in for the role of Social Media Editor/Writer for 10 months. During this time, the pandemic hit, and she saw an opportunity in the chaos, and her visionary "CSUN as One" social media campaign was born. The campaign was a resounding success, uniting students, faculty, and staff in a virtual world and fostering a sense of togetherness during uncertain times. So profound was its impact that "CSUN as One" became the moniker for the university's newly implemented virtual instruction.
Her journey is one of dedication, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to making a difference for her university and her community. As she continues to thrive as the Digital Strategy Specialist, there's no doubt that her creative journey is just getting started, and she will continue to leave an indelible mark on the world of higher education.
Jessica Patterson
As a Digital Content Manager at the University of Alabama Culverhouse College of Business, Jessica excels in crafting compelling narratives and visually engaging content for the college's online platforms. Her academic journey includes her current pursuit of an Doctorate in Higher Education Administration, complemented by a BS in Marketing and an MA in Communication from The University of Alabama.
In her role, Jessica oversees the strategic planning, creation, and publication of digital content, utilizing her expertise in social media strategy and content creation. She has a proven track record of significantly increasing social media impressions and engagements, effectively connecting with students, faculty and staff, and external stakeholders.
In her previous roles, Jessica focused on brand generation and alignment, she implemented innovative strategies that not only increased audience reach but also fostered a strong brand identity for the clients she served. Her standout specialty lay in her ability to adapt emerging trends to the higher education niche, ensuring that the digital presence of educational institutions remained current and engaging.
In her former life, Jessica twirled as a Crimsonette in the Million Dollar Band! Her love for cheering on the Tide stands strong thus driving her enthusiasm for showcasing the unique stories and achievements of the institution.
Natalie Petersen
Natalie Petersen executes marketing and communication strategies across the OSU Foundation, including for campaign, executive communications, cause-related fundraising initiatives and more. Through digital marketing, Ms. Petersen tells the OSU story to the OSU community, donors and alumni.
Ms. Petersen joined the OSU Foundation in 2019 after working as a publicist for four years, for small businesses in the state of Washington. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from Central Washington University.
Laura Pizzo
Laura Pizzo is the senior director of communications strategy at the Oregon State University Foundation. She oversees digital marketing and communications, developing messaging strategy for key initiatives and providing leadership to the writing and digital marketing teams that bring the OSU story to life across multiple channels. Ms. Pizzo leads communications strategy across the Foundation, including for campaign, executive communications, cause-related fundraising initiatives and more. Ms. Pizzo joined the OSU Foundation in 2019 after leading a communications team for development and alumni relations at UC Davis. She has deep experience in communications for educational advancement across a range of public institutions and in the private sector. Ms. Pizzo serves on the CASE District VIII Cabinet and is the District VIII Awards Co-Chair. She received her Master of Fine Arts in creative writing from the University of Idaho and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature from the University of Oregon.
Grant Schol
As Associate Director of Communications and Project Management for Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas, Grant leverages his multimedia storytelling skills to champion forward the incredible stories found on a university campus. With over nine years of experience in public relations, social media, and photography, Grant has a passion for inspiring change and showcasing the stories of the U of A community.
In his previous roles in higher education, Grant has been a full-time social media manager for the Sam M. Walton College of Business, also at the U of A, worked as the full-time campus photographer for the University of Central Arkansas, and directed a study abroad campus in Italy for his undergraduate alma mater, Harding University.
Additionally, he has worked as a project manager and story producer for a corporate video production team and has his own creative consultation and freelance photography business. He has won multiple awards for his work in breaking news and sports photography, and published work in yearbooks, newspapers, art shows, and other digital and print materials. Grant holds a B.A. in public relations and is continuing his education at the U of A in the M.A in communication program. He is always eager to learn new skills, explore new perspectives, and collaborate with others to deliver high-quality, meaningful, and impactful stories.
Sarabeth Soule
Sarabeth Soule is the Director of Marketing and Communications at Riverside Presbyterian Day School in Jacksonville, Florida. Now in her 4th year at RPDS, Sarabeth has used her keen understanding of her school community and current trends to grow Riverside's social media presence and following, create captivating digital content, and refine the school's brand and tone. Prior to her career in independent school marketing and communications, Sarabeth worked for various nonprofit agencies in communications and advancement capacities. Sarabeth received her Bachelor of Arts in Editing, Writing, and Media from Florida State University in 2014 and her Master of Science degree in Communication Management from the University of North Florida.
Jerra Toms
Jerra Toms is the Director of Marketing and Communications at the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas where she leads strategic marketing and communications efforts internally and externally to engage with students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors, industry partners and other stakeholders to support the Walton College across the web, social media, audio and video, creative and branding, e-mail communications and more.
She is a two-time graduate of the Walton College, earning her undergraduate degree in marketing management and MBA with a concentration in marketing. Prior to working for the Walton College, she founded leisurlist, a media platform that showcased the best things to eat, see and do in Northwest Arkansas for Runway Group, which was founded by Tom and Steuart Walton. Prior to that she worked in employer branding for Walmart corporate and in client services for an influencer marketing company, Collective Bias (now Inmar Intelligence). In that role she worked with a number of consumer-packaged goods clients including Starbucks, Tyson Foods, Coca-Cola, ConAgra Foods, Hallmark, Nestle and more.
Josh Young
Innovative digital media marketing creator/manager with 10 years of experience creating successful CRM workflows, social media, SEO, and lead generation marketing campaigns. Skilled in conceptualizing, planning, and organizing multiple assignments effectively by coordinating and supervising the work of others. I possess a bachelor’s degree with digital media related experience, extensive knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite and producing reports on paid web/social media marketing campaigns.
