We recently participated in the Asia+Pacific International Advancement Study Tour. It was intended to be a blend of social, cultural, and professional experiences for those of us who are looking to enhance our international advancement programs. We checked all of these boxes as we shared ideas, ate some terrific food, and visited some interesting sites!

This year’s eight Platinum Award recipients took on groundbreaking initiatives to strengthen their institutions and advance education. Here are eight takeaways from these global recipients.  

As we come to the end of July, most schools are seeing the end of their fiscal year. Budgets are closed, goals have (hopefully!) been met or even exceeded, and for many of us, this means we turn over new leaves as we start fresh with the calendar, and our fundraising and engagement clocks are reset. With significant change, comes significant opportunity, but it's up to us to keep a growth mindset as we prepare for a new school year.

Founded in 2000 as a primary school, Hong Kong Academy in Sai Kung, Hong Kong, has added one grade level each year and graduated its first class of seven students in 2012.

Conversations about diversity in higher education and advancement can be challenging. But Ishna Hall doesn’t like to say that those discussions are tough—she calls them courageous.
