CASE Advancement Internship Program
The President’s Excellence Fund plays a pivotal role in supporting the CASE Advancement Internship Program, which provides opportunities for a diverse range of professionals to pursue a career in educational advancement—many of whom may not have considered this path before. Through the generous support of our donors, this initiative is shaping the future of the profession, bringing fresh perspectives and talents that will strengthen the sector for years to come.
Recently, the fund has:
- Supported the creation of a partnership between CASE and City College of New York’s Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership. These funds aided in the establishment of the program, which bridges what they learn in the classroom with exposure to a field that they may not have otherwise considered.
- Enabled the acquisition of targeted marketing lists to connect with campus career centers, significantly broadening the recruitment reach. This investment helped attract a more diverse pool of interns, aligning with CASE’s commitment to inclusivity and diversity in the profession.
- Played a key role in elevating the experience for our interns and setting a strong foundation for future growth. As we celebrate the Internship Program’s 10th anniversary year in 2025, CASE looks to significantly grow the program to serve even more emerging professionals.
Through the philanthropic support of our community, we are shaping the next generation of advancement leaders together, ensuring each new intern will contribute to and grow within the field of educational advancement.

"The opportunity to intern with CASE and Duke Health proved to be transformational for my professional development. Throughout the program, I gained invaluable hands-on experience in fundraising and engagement initiatives, including the planning of a large-scale fundraising and engagement campaign that Duke Health intends to implement in the coming months. The CASE Internship program was particularly meaningful for me as I had the chance to meet Duke Health patients whose lives were directly impacted by my work. This experience has deeply motivated me to pursue a career that leverages advancement and higher education as tools for making a positive difference in the lives of others."
