CASE Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Symposium
At CASE, we celebrate the profound impact of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging within the advancement profession, especially through events like the annual DEIB Symposium. Generous contributions from the President’s Excellence Fund made it possible to bring together thought leaders, innovators, and changemakers at the symposium to share insights, build networks, and drive meaningful change.
Through President’s Excellence Fund, we were able to provide support for scholarships, the development of cutting-edge programming, and create a community where diverse voices are not only heard but amplified. Together, we are shaping a future where advancement is more inclusive, equitable, and effective. Join us in this journey and witness firsthand the difference your philanthropic support makes in transforming lives and society through the power of education.

We had the pleasure of connecting with Jennifer after her attendance of the CASE DEIB Symposium to learn more about the impactful experience she had this past April.
“The CASE Diverse Philanthropy and Leadership conference truly transformed not only my perspective but my career path as well. Although I’ve been a dedicated advocate for women and people of color for over 20 years—through volunteerism, mentorship, and service leadership—it wasn’t until I attended this conference that I felt the call to lean in more deeply and take on a greater role in this critical work.
Before the conference, I was very happy in my individual contributor role, fundraising for an area that I am deeply passionate about, working alongside brilliant scientists and promising trainees, all while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. However, the conversations with leaders and colleagues, both at UC Davis and across the field, made me realize that lasting change requires each and every one of us to step up.
Upon returning from the conference, I felt a renewed passion and vision as I headed into the final round of interviews for a leadership role. Thanks to the inspiration and insights gained from the conference, I was invigorated and ready to take a seat at the decision-making table—knowing that I could help shape the strategic direction of our organization for the better.
I credit CASE, the conference, and the many strong, thoughtful, and inspiring leaders I had the privilege to meet for this incredible shift. I am deeply grateful for the experience and the lasting impact it has had on my life and career.”
