2021 Black History Month
From the Nominator
"Concordia University in Montreal, QC, continues its efforts to create a more equitable experience for minorities at our institution through our President’s Task Force on Anti-Black Racism, Black Perspectives Office and Equity Office. At university advancement, our commitment to equity led to the creation of a Black Alumni Network, added fundraising for Black student scholarships, and an increased celebration of Black History Month.
While we celebrate Black Concordians 365 days per year, Black History Month presents an opportunity to promote issues exclusively pertaining to the Black experience. For our 2021 Black History Month social media campaign, we collaborated with 11 prominent Black Concordians to produce 20 original pieces of content to share during a month-long celebration. All content produced had ties to Concordians who are members of the Black community, celebrated Black ingenuity, and promoted creative expression."
