Why Data is the 4-Letter Word Savvy Fundraisers Swear By
To fully flex your fundraising muscle, you need buy-in from both the annual giving and advancement services sides of the house. How do you achieve the alignment necessary to drive meaningful results? The devil is in the data.
GiveCampus analyzed aggregate data from 4,532 campaigns and 4,973 giving forms to identify what’s moving the proverbial needle in fundraising and what’s not. Find out from fellow K-12 fundraisers how they’re leveraging that data to drive decisions at key stages of the philanthropic lifecycle, and how they got everybody—including advancement services—to back their biggest bets.

Building a Collaborative Business Office and Advancement Partnership
When Business office and Advancement colleagues have trusting, collaborative partnerships, it impacts the institution’s bottom line in meaningful ways. Schools steward donors more cohesively, are better equipped to make the case for support, and secure larger gifts. If collaboration was easy, there wouldn’t be a need for a CASE workshop! CFOs and Chief Advancement Officers often face competing pressures and challenges that can lead to interdepartmental friction that may diminish fundraising success. As St. Stephen’s gears up for a historic and ambitious comprehensive campaign, Associate Head of School for Finance and Operations Cindy Stadulis and Director of Advancement April Speck-Ewer will share some guiding principles that have helped their teams to forge a strong working relationship. They believe this framework helped St. Stephen’s secure a recent $17 million gift, the largest in the history of the school.

Planned Giving Pointers for Every Program
Add the planned giving arrow to your fundraising quiver. Programmatically and individually, schools and their fundraisers have much to gain from talking with prospective donors about planned giving. But many don’t. This session will explore key rationale for strengthening or building your school’s planned giving program and why you should be expecting every fundraiser to secure planned gift intentions from constituents. The session will also help attendees overcome the common stumbling blocks that often get in the way of having these conversations. In a case study, we will look at how one school used an historic bequest intention as a catalyst to increase the focus on planned giving. Whether in or between campaigns, discussing planned giving with your school’s prospects is good for your institution and your donors. Come and learn strategies for doing so.
