Meet the Faculty

Jane Chafer
Jane Chafer is Vice President of Membership, Marketing, and Communications at CASE. She joined the CASE team in November 2022.
She began her career in 1985 with a marketing sponsorship for ECC Limited, based in St Austell, U.K., and completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Studies at Bradford University, with a six-month internship in Milan. From there, she moved to Mars confectionery and BT, where she held various senior marketing and communication roles with responsibility for integrated customer-facing campaigns.
Joining the University of Sheffield, U.K., in 2004 as Director of Marketing, she rebranded the University and led a programme to embed customer service within the organisation, whilst increasing international students by 40% in just one year. Chafer also represented the university at five international conferences. Chafer joined Plymouth University, U.K., in September 2009, completing her MBA degree in 2010 at Ashridge with a dissertation on marketing services at Plymouth. She held the role of Director of External Relations until December 2013, and was responsible for stakeholder engagement, communications, development, alumni, and marketing Operations. In 2013, she was appointed a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Chafer joined the executive team at the University of Exeter, U.K., as its inaugural Director of Communications and Corporate Affairs in February 2014. During her nine years at Exeter, she grew and developed the concept of integrated advancement.
Chafer got her first taste of non-executive work on the Board of Sheffield City Trust. Now, her non-executive work is for Plymouth Argyle Football Club, a league one team in the U.K.

Marina Cooper
Marina Harrison Cooper is assistant vice president for integrated marketing and brand at Johns Hopkins University, leading the creation, execution, and management of its comprehensive marketing and branding program. Prior to her role at Hopkins, Marina was Vice President for University Marketing and Communications at Towson University, where she led all aspects of university communications and marketing aimed at advancing TU's reputation for academic excellence and institutional impact, including a comprehensive rebranding initiative.
Marina holds undergraduate and graduate degrees (MBA) from University of Maryland and the IEM (Institute for Educational Management) from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education.

Gustavo Segui
Gustavo Segui has been a leader in international education for the past 11 years, in the areas of Marketing, Admissions and Advancement, with past professional experience at Volkswagen Headquarters in Germany. He holds a record of achievements in marketing and large experience in leading cross-functional teams and in using design thinking to drive strategy, creative campaigns, organizational culture, professional development, and create a sense of purpose and belonging within an organization.
Gustavo has experience as former board member at the American Chamber of Commerce in Curitiba, as a teacher of High Performance and Productivity, as a Group Leader at AMISA for Marketing, Admissions and Advancement in the Americas Region and as a speaker at multiple international conferences.
He spends every Tuesday night with friends, developers and designers having fun developing games.

José Antonio Gea
José Antonio Gea is the Director of Marketing and Sales of Anáhuac University in Mexico City, recognized as the third best university in Mexico according to the QS World University Ranking. José Antonio is in charge of communication, marketing and massive events for the attraction and recruitment of undergraduates. He has spoken at a number of international summits and congresses.
He holds a bachelor's degree in communication and a master's degree in marketing from Universidad Anáhuac. His work has been honored with the CASE Platinum Award Latin America 2018 for the best marketing and communication strategy for the Anáhuac Open Day.
