Data. Everyone is collecting it—from small, independent schools to huge, public universities. As an advancement professional, you can expect to spend at least part of your day dealing with numbers or reporting in some capacity. Q: How do you decide what data to dig into for your illustrations? What intrigues you?

What does it mean to have a research mind? Or to approach things with a research mindset?

On March 5, CASE hosted a briefing on the 2018 Voluntary Support of Education survey results for government relations professionals in Washington, DC. Association and institution government relations staff and other advancement professionals heard about the latest trends in charitable giving to colleges and universities and what the new data means for charitable giving legislation on Capitol Hill.

"As analysts it's not only our job to create with data but also to evangelize and prove its importance," says Campbell. 

"What we ultimately decided on was the idea of celebrating the global family."
