Road Map to Advancement

The Road Map to Advancement aims to provide those new to the profession or early career professionals with essential fundamentals of advancement. Using a condensed but integrated approach, this one-day programme will draw from a variety of key topics that will equip delegates with a solid base of knowledge on advancement.
Important Note: This will run concurrently with the Leadership Forum, and Deep Dive into Campaign on 7 May 2024.

Khalijah has been in the fundraising sector for the last 18 years. Her foray into fundraising was accidental, but she has not looked back since, enjoying the immense satisfaction she got from fundraising. Her social mission and passion are to encourage and inspire giving.
Khalijah holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) from NUS, Graduate Diploma in Marketing Communications (GDMC) from the Marketing Institute of Singapore, Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from the National Institute of Education (NIE), a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from NUS and a Master in Arts (Philanthropic Studies) from the University of Kent (Canterbury, England). She also holds the Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) credential, one of the few in Singapore. CFRE credential is the only accredited certificate for philanthropic fundraising professionals in the world.
Khalijah is the Director of the Advancement Office at the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS). Prior to this, she was the Assistant Director (Corporate Development) at the National Neuroscience Institute (NNI), Deputy Director (Donor Relations) at the Community Foundation of Singapore (CFS), and a Senior Manager (Development) at NUS. In her 18 years, she has raised about $200 million. Earlier in her career, she was in the scuba-diving industry for ten years before taking a break to take her PGDE at NIE.
Khalijah volunteers with several charities in Singapore, lending her fundraising expertise to these charities. At SUSS, she wears another hat as an Associate Faculty teaching NPM505 Fundraising and Philanthropy, an elective module in the Graduate Diploma in Non-Profit Management (GDNPM). From 2015 to 2018, she taught the “Philanthropic Planning” module in the STEP Certificate for Financial Services to financial advisors.
