Roundtable: “Help! Our data is rubbish, and we don’t know where to start fixing it!” - Productle
In this session, we create a forum for anyone who has the ambition to improve data use at their organisation but isn’t confident where to start. We’ll explore some common data challenges, both technical and people based. We’ll discuss prioritising actionable steps, streamlining processes and building a strong data foundation. We’ll talk about how to dodge distractions and keep your colleagues on side, whilst you simultaneously deliver ambitious change and the business as usual.
Most importantly, we’ll focus on your goals and where you’re trying to get to with your data. We may even have data-based jokes.
Let’s make your data smile!
Speakers: James Dungate, CRM Strategy Consultant, Productle

Roundtable: Getting to the heart of major gifts success – what could a comparative study tell us? - More Partnership
Many organisations have invested substantially in major and principal gifts fundraisers, in prospect research and in pipeline management. Yet obtaining robust data on what is and is not working is not always easy. Efforts to dig into the data on major gifts success have been hampered by small data sets, the sheer diversity of practice in major gift fundraising, the many ways of recording the pipeline, attribution of trust or corporate gifts to individuals, and more.
Yet we know that robust data analysis can be transformational, enabling focus on what is working and discarding what is not.
At More Partnership we are exploring the possibility of launching an occasional “deep dive” into major gift fundraising success metrics. This would draw on our decades of experience of managing major gifts fundraising together with benchmarking expertise from many projects, not least our award-winning Regular Giving Insight and Benchmarking project. Without obligation, please come and explore with us what might be possible.
Speakers: Adrian Beney, Partner, More Partnership, Tim Wells, Partner & Data and Insights Manager, More Partnership

Five things we learned when thinking big: Reflecting on a prospecting challenge at Cambridge
In 2023, the Cambridge Development Research and Due Diligence Team were given an ambitious target which, if met, could double the size of the prospect pool in just one year. Meeting this challenge would take creativity, experience, initiative and a little bit of luck. The project would involve a radical ramp-up of prospect identification, exploring new (to the University) jurisdictions and demographics, with all the attendant due diligence considerations. It would also involve a cultural shift; a new way of thinking, talking about and tracking research activity and the value we add. Join Development Research and Due Diligence Manager Natalie Burles to hear more about how Cambridge looked outside of its traditional donor pools and processes to tackle a global prospecting challenge, and the lessons learned along the way; on everything from prospecting, to due diligence, to data, and beyond.
Speakers: Natalie Burles, Development Research and Due Diligence Manager, University of Cambridge
