This session will provide Advancement staff with strategies to build more equitable engagement pathways, empower diverse constituencies and drive mission impact. We will discuss: why equity and inclusion are critical to Advancement's mission and community impact, challenges and barriers facing marginalized groups, strategies for driving change to foster inclusive participation, and frameworks and language to advocate for equity-focused engagement in a compelling way.

There has been a lot of talk about what the Secure Act 2.0 gave us - the ability to use a QCD to close a CGA (or CRT). But what does that actually look like? Who makes the most sense for this type of gift? Join this session to first understand a quick lesson on taxes, IRAs and why and how they are important for our donor work. This will also lead us to learn about the first gift (and many others that have followed) for the University of Colorado.

With higher education facing uncertain changes, universities are making bold decisions in attempts to stay relevant and up to date to provide current and future students with the best academic careers possible. Some of these changes may be controversial and spark emotions from it’s alumni. Hear about how Emporia State University and the ESU Alumni Association faced adversity while continuing to emphasize alumni relationships and engagement.

2024 marks the 50th Anniversary of CASE as an association, which came about from the joining of the American Alumni Council and the American College Public Relations Association. CASE now is the global professional association for those who work in those disciplines and also in fundraising and advancement services – and many other specialties. To mark this anniversary, CASE President & CEO Sue Cunningham will engage a panel of volunteers about the future of advancement. At the end of the year, this conversation will inform a collection of insights about our profession and all its disciplines – the ones we know now, and the ones that might emerge!
