How to Build Predicting/Prescriptive Live Actionable Dashboards for a Successful Portfolio Management
We created a dashboard that gets delivered to the development officers(DOs) by email with different analytics, reminders and highlights of areas needing attention related to their assigned prospects in their portfolios. This dashboard provides key information so they can be proactive and take actions based on the items displayed. Birthdays coming up, pledges due soon, pledges past due, write offs, gift from their prospects coming from any source(online, event, etc), actions entered to someone in their portfolio by another DO, prospects attendance/registration to an event. For prospects in the solicitation stage, the dashboard displays historical giving and area of interest.

Prevent the Zombie Proposal Apocalypse
Members of Northwestern University's Reporting and Analytics team partnered with Senior Leadership to develop a predictive model to identify stagnating proposals that might have a high probability of never being asked or never being funded, aka, "Zombie Proposals." Prospect Management then helped to develop a Zombie Proposals Tableau dashboard, which is used in portfolio reviews to help officers identify problem proposals and talk through strategies to either "revive" their Zombie proposals or release their Zombies to the apocalypse. The result has been more honest conversations about proposals and portfolios with fewer cobwebs.
